HEAT

The H.E.A.T Unit (Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic) and the D.U.I. Task Force Unit are both functions under the Special Operations Division. Both units work hard on a daily basis to combat impaired driving, seatbelt violators, speeding violators and aggressive drivers.  The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office DUI Enforcement Unit is charged with enforcing traffic laws related to driving while impaired or under the influence of alcohol and / or drugs. The DUI Enforcement Unit was originally established under a grant administered by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, and was supplemented by funding from Forsyth County. The unit is now a permanent part of the Sheriff’s Office.
