ONE ARRESTED FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
This morning at 11:50 a.m., Forsyth County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Scott A. Biumi, 48, of Cumming and charged him with aggravated assault. The charge stems from an incident that occurred on April 9, 2013, at the McDonald’s on Old Atlanta Road in Cumming.
According to Forsyth County investigators, at approximately 10:30 p.m. on April 9, while in line at the drive-through of McDonald’s, Biumi became upset with another customer. He exited his car, and following a verbal exchange with the customer, Biumi drew a gun and pointed it at the victim.
While investigating this incident, investigators discovered that Biumi works as a Detective Sergeant for the DeKalb County Police Department. “Our deputies worked diligently and safely to solve this case. (Dekalb County Police) Chief Alexander and his staff were very professional and cooperative during our investigation into this matter, and we appreciate their assistance," stated Sheriff Duane K. Piper.
At the time of this release, Biumi is being booked into the Forsyth County Detention Center.
