New procedures are in effect for concealed weapons permits.

All applicants must now undergo a criminal records check and be fingerprinted.

The applicant must be at least 21 years of age and be a resident of Forsyth County. He or she must have an approved ID and submit a $55.00 fee payable by cash only to the Probate Court of Forsyth County.

This is a change from prior procedure.
