Due to the limited space of the current Forsyth County Jail the Sheriff's Office is forced to house inmates all over the state. As a general rule the inmates we must take care of are not convicted. They are usually people who are awaiting trial and either are not eligible for or can not make bond. Inmates in this stage of the judicial process often require frequent trips to court and must be allowed to meet with their attorney. Currently this requires driving to where they are, bringing them to Forsyth County and then transporting them back (usually all within the same day). Below is a map of where Forsyth County inmates are currently housed.
