Subject: Suspicious Person
Date: March 13, 2010
On Wednesday March 10, 2010 at approximately 9:00 pm the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office was called to a residence in the Lake Forest subdivision in reference to a suspicious person. When the Deputy and Sergeant arrived they met with the parent of a teenage girl who said she got off the bus around 2:00 pm and was walking home in the rain. A small silver car with a young male driver pulled up next to her and asked if she wanted a ride home. She told the young man she didn't want a ride, the young man then drove away. The complainant thought it might have been a boy she goes to school with, but the conversation was brief and she wasn't certain.
With just several words of dialog between the two, the possibility that the young man in the car knew the girl, and there being no obvious attempt lure the girl into the car or continue making any conversation, It was determined that no crime was committed, a report was completed and the incident closed. The subdivision has been put on an extra patrol for the early afternoon through evening hours.
Also, it has been brought to our attention through an email, the possibility of a similar situation taking place in the Rose Creek subdivision. As of today the Forsyth County Sheriffs Office has had no complaints and no report of any such incident taking place in the Rose Creek subdivision.
The Forsyth County Sheriffs Office takes calls of this nature very seriously, and our number one priority is protecting our citizens, especially our children. As always, if you see any suspicious activity or persons in your subdivision, please call 911 and report it to the Sheriff’s Office immediately, so that we can send a deputy out and make contact with the person or persons.
Thank You
