North Precinct Honors Deputy of the Year

Sheriff Ted Paxton (l) looks on North Precinct Commander Capt. Mark Flowers recognizes Deputy Sheriff First Class Travis Spriggs as Deputy of the Year for the North Precinct.

Spriggs, a K-9 officer, is a five-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office. He was named Deputy of the Month for July, 2006 for his outstanding work in putting a stop to a rash of burglaries in his patrol area, including the arrest of four suspects, all of which contributed to his winning this award.

In addition, Deputy Spriggs and his K-9 partner also made several felony drug arrests during the year. In the words of Captain Flowers, “Deputy Spriggs cared, he worked hard and he succeeded”.
