Monday, April 15, 2002 Two Decatur men are in the Forsyth County Jail, charged in connection with a drug sting that took place early Friday evening. According to Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton, the pair, identified as Kennon B. Thomas, age 39 and Charles W. Halloway, age 45, were arrested by Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents and Forsyth County narcotics officers and charged with Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Distribute. Ten pounds of marijuana was confiscated at the scene. Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Distribute is a felony carrying a maximum prison sentence of up to 10 years and fines up to $100,000. The sting took place about 7 p.m. Friday evening at business parking lot in north Forsyth County close to GA 400. Also seized was a 1998 Cadillac DeVille. This sting was a joint operation of the G.B.I. and Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. |
