A mid-day single car accident claimed the life of a 22 year-old Cumming woman today.

According to Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialists, the victim has been identified as Jessica Nacole Vascocu of a Haw Creek Road address. Vascocu was travelling west on Pilgrim Road near Antioch Road when her 1997 Honda Civic left the roadway, overturned twice, pinning her under the car. She died instantly.

The accident occurred at 12:06 p.m. Ms. Vascocu was alone in the car.

Authorities are investigating why Vascocu’s vehicle left the road. Preliminary indications are she may have been using a cell phone at the time the accident occurred.
