A three-year-old Forsyth County child drowned late Saturday evening in a backyard swimming pool.

Jessie Jones, 3, of a Quail Trail address, was found by family friends floating in the pool at 8810 Old Keith Bridge Road. The boy, along with other children, had been swimming in the pool earlier that evening. The other children, according to reports, had gotten out of the pool to eat when someone saw an unidentified object floating in the pool. At that time several adults jumped into the pool, retrieved the child and began C.P.R. until emergency responders arrived.

The child was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville where he was later pronounced dead.
