Mt. Zion Lodge #316 F&AM recently donated more than $2,200 to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office
for the purchase of five sets of body armor for deputies. Each set of body armor costs $455.
Mt. Zion Lodge has a long-standing tradition of supporting worthy causes in Forsyth County through
its annual fund-raising barbecue. Over the past four years, Mt. Zion Lodge has donated over $22
thousand from its fund-raising efforts.
"We are very grateful to everyone in Mt. Zion Lodge for their support," said Sheriff Paxton. "While we
hope that none of our deputies will ever have to rely on body armor, it's great to know that our citizens
think enough of our officers to provide this essential equipment."
In the photo, Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton is shown receiving the check from Bruce Shanahan,
Jr. Past Master of Mt. Zion Lodge. Looking on (l) is Mike Busse, Worshipful Master.
