Forsyth County Sheriff's Office investigators are trying to determine how a 10 year-old child was shot and killed early this morning.

According to Sheriff Ted Paxton, deputies responded to a 911 call of a person shot at 7610 Little Mill Road in the north end of the county. The call was received at 8:45 a.m.

Upon arriving, they found Alicia Born lying in her mobile home. She had been shot in the head. The child was transported by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville where she was pronounced dead.

No other information is being released at this time, pending further investigation.
