Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton is shown accepting a check in the amount of $700 from Cumming Wal-Mart Co-Manager Ron Soles.

The check represents Wal-Mart’s local participation in the company’s “Safe Neighborhoods” grant program. It is available at all local Wal-Mart stores in support of local police, fire, rescue and EMS organizations.

“Wal-Mart has always proved itself to be a great community supporter,” said Sheriff Paxton. “We’re very appreciative of everything they do for us”, he added.

In addition to this grant, our local Wal-Mart sponsors our annual Fraternal Order of Police “Shop With A Cop” program and supports “Operation Homesafe”, a free gun lock giveaway program.
