Wednesday, October 9, 2002 Three Forsyth County teenagers have been charged in connection with the burglary of a recently closed Country Cupboard convenience store. The three, Michael Palazzo, 17, Christopher Budd, 17, and Courtney Miller, 17, were arrested within hours of the break-in. The incident occurred about 4 p.m. on Monday of this week. All three are students at South Forsyth High School. The store, located at 325 Peachtree Parkway, was a popular after-school hang out for local teenagers. According to Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Investigator Bill Franco, several witnesses at a nearby business observed several youths kick in the rear door of the store, which was recently closed in connection with the announced bankruptcy of the convenience store company. At the time of the burglary the store's inventory had not been removed. Several youths entered the store and removed tobacco items and cigarette lighters. Officers responded quickly to the call of a burglary in progress and arrested Palazzo as he was leaving the scene. Information developed at the scene led investigators to Budd and Miller. All three have been charged with burglary and were released from jail after posting a $5,000 bond. |
