FORSYTH COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

TWO ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES INVOLVING HEROIN DISTRIBUTION

October 9, 2002

Two Forsyth County men were arrested Monday night and charged with conspiracy to distribute heroin as a result of an investigation into the deaths of two Forsyth County men last week.

Robert Singletary, 20, of an Echols Road address in Cumming and Jonathan Arthur Stewart, 20, of a Huntington Dr. address in Alpharetta were both charged with conspiracy to distribute heroin. Singletary was also charged with possession of heroin and the use of a communication device to commit a crime.

According to Capt. Ron Freeman of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, the arrests came as a result of a narcotics investigation that was launched after two Forsyth County men were found dead last week in a residence off Mary Alice Park Road. "As part of the investigation into these deaths, we were able to make these arrests," Capt. Freeman said. "However, the investigation is still continuing into the deaths." Final autopsy results from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab have not yet been completed.

Singletary was released today after posting a $30,000 bond. Stewart was released today after posting a $10,000 bond. Both are scheduled to appear in Superior Court on Nov. 8.
