-GENERAL CRIME PREVENTION: Provides information to the audience about specific techniques and action steps they can take to protect themselves, their homes and automobiles from becoming targets of crime.
-CHILD ABDUCTION PREVENTION: Adults only seminar where we examine five specific child abduction cases. The audience is provided with the laws that are not protecting our children and specific tips on how you can protect your children.
-CHILD MOLESTATION AWARENESS (THE SILENT CRIME): An adult-only seminar that provides specific information on child molestation. "One out of every seven children will be molested before they reach the age of eighteen". Learn what the signs are and the process that is involved in investigating child molestation cases.
-INTERNET SAFETY FOR PARENTS: Another adult-specific class where the dangers of the internet are identified and solutions are discussed. This class is taught by both the Crime Prevention Officer and Investigator Jeff Roe from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division.
-STRANGER DANGER FOR KIDS: A course designed for children between the ages of four and sixteen. These classes are divided up into specific age groups (4-7, 8-12, 12-16). In our Stranger Danger courses the kids learn specific techniques on how to protect themselves from possible abduction scenarios.
-SELF DEFENSE FOR WOMEN: This seminar is designed to teach women specific self defense techniques and build self confidence. The class is divided into both classroom instruction, coupled with hands on practical exercises. This class is taught by certified self defense instructors from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.
-RAPE PREVENTION: This seminar is designed to teach women the various methods and techniques on how to avoid being raped. In the seminar we will profile a rapist, and discuss the tools available to women to help deter an attacker.
-DATE RAPE: This seminar is designed for teenagers, mothers of teenagers and single women. It covers many of the "designer drugs" that are being used today by predators. It also covers the effects and potential dangers of these drugs on the victim, as well as the specific precautions that women should utilize when they are on a date or at a party.
-IDENTITY THEFT: This seminar is designed to teach the audience about the latest methods and tools that identity thieves are using in an attempt to steal your identity. We will provide specific steps that you can take to protect yourself from becoming a victim of this crime.
-FAMILY VIOLENCE AWARENESS: This seminar is designed to teach the audience about the many potential dangers of this growing crime in Forsyth County. We will also review the laws specific to Family Violence, and the many resources available to the victims of this crime. In the seminar we will take the audience through an actual case so that they will have a good understanding of the process that both the offender and victim go through.
-SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE: This course is designed to teach the audience about the growing trend of violence in the workplace. We will review some actual cases that have taken place and what could have been done to prevent them from occurring. The audience will be taught what signs to look for, and the proper procedures to follow if you think that a fellow employee might be a danger to themselves or fellow employees.
-STREET GANG AWARENESS: This seminar is designed to inform the audience to the various gangs that have been found to be established and documented inside Forsyth County. A member of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Gang Task Force will be the primary speaker. The information provided includes the various signs and/or signature of the various gangs, the law as it pertains to gangs and the tools/tactics the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is utilizing to address the issue.
-ILLEGAL DRUG AWARENESS: This seminar is designed to inform the audience of the various illegal drugs that are being seen in Forsyth County. The seminar will cover the current trends and facts surrounding illegal drug use. We will also provide the audience with information specific to methamphetamine usage. There will be an officer from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit at the meeting to address any questions from the audience.
