The primary mission of Project Lifesaver is to provide timely response to save lives and reduce potential injury for adults and children who wander due to Alzheimer’s, Autism, and other related conditions or disorders.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office joined Project Lifesaver to provide this fundamental program to citizen’s in our area. This program allows families to have peace of mind knowing their loved one has a direct link to first responders.

Citizens enrolled in Project Lifesaver wear a small personal transmitter around the wrist or ankle that emits an individual tracking signal. If an enrolled client goes missing, the caregiver notifies their local Project Lifesaver agency, and a trained emergency team responds to the wanderer’s area. Most who wander are found within a few miles from home, and search teams have been reduced from hours and days to minutes.

Project Lifesaver is a non-profit 501c3 organization. Donations are welcome and appreciated. You may also sponsor an individual for the following contribution:

  • $6.00 will provide a battery and band for a month.
  • $72.00 donation will provide the batteries and bands, for a transmitter for a year,
  • $270.00 will provide a transmitter, batteries, and bands, for one year.

Individuals must qualify for the program based on need, capability, and supply.  For more information call Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Community Relations at 770-781-2222.
