Deputy Yeaton, who was employed with the Sheriff’s Office in April, 2006 was selected among his peers for his outstanding work in July. According to Captain Flowers, Yeaton’s selection resulted from his efforts in identifying and assisting in the apprehension of a suspected burglar. Yeaton was given a lookout on a burglar suspect during roll call on July 28. This information pertained to a burglary that had occurred two days earlier. Yeaton immediately recognized the suspect as someone he had previously arrested. He shared this information with investigators and, as a direct result, the suspect was arrested and charged with the burglary.
During the year, each Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Precinct recognizes a Deputy of the Month. At the end of each year, a Deputy of the Year is selected from the 12 monthly award winners.
