"Super Speeder" Law Takes Effect January 1

Speeders beware! If you have a tendency to be heavy-footed on Georgia roads it will likely cost you more beginning January 1. That’s when Georgia’s “Super Speeder” law goes into effect. The law provides for an additional $200 fine for persons convicted of driving 75 mph or more on two-lane Georgia roads, or convicted of driving 85 mph or higher on any Georgia road.

This additional $200 fine is in addition to any local fine levied against the driver.
