Excessive Speed Blamed in Fatal Crash

Excessive speed is being blamed as the cause of a fatal crash Friday night that claimed the life of a Cumming woman.

According to Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist Cpl. David Garrison, the victim was identified as Lori A. Vlasic, age 44, of Wyngate Drive in Cumming.

Cpl. Garrison stated that Ms. Vlasic was traveling northbound on Castleberry Road near Wade Valley Drive in her 1997 Infiniti when she lost control of the car.  The Infiniti left the road and went into a ditch, overturned and ended up on its top.  Ms. Vlasic was dead at the scene.

Ms. Vlasic, who was alone in the car, was wearing her seat belt.  The wreck occurred approximately 8:10 p.m.
Alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be contributing factors, only excessive speed, Garrison said.
