One Person Killed in Late Night Crash

A 21 year-old Cumming man died late last night when his car collided with a tree on Tribble Gap Road, Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton said today.

According to Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist, Sergeant Chris Shelton, the victim was identified as Eric Doyle Mullis of Denson Drive in Cumming.

Sgt. Shelton said that Mullis was alone in his 2006 Hyundai Tiburon and was traveling north on Tribble Gap road at a high rate of speed when the car left the roadway near Heatherwyn Way and collided with a tree.   Sgt. Shelton said that Mullis was unrestrained in his car and that the car impacted the tree on the passenger side of the car.

Mullis was pronounced dead at the scene by Forsyth County EMS personnel.

The first 911 call reporting the accident was received at 11:55 p.m.

Toxicology test results are pending to determine whether or not alcohol or drugs were contributing factors.
