According to Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton, information from a confidential source placed Gibson in the vicinity of the store. Deputies went to the store and located Gibson, who was arrested without incident. Gibson had been shopping for clothes, Sheriff Paxton added.
In addition to the escape charge, Gibson, age 34, will also face felony drug charges, Sheriff Paxton said. At the time of his arrest, Gibson had 11 Hydrocodone pills in his possession. Hydrocodone is a Schedule III narcotic and is available only with a physician’s prescription.
Gibson has been returned to the Detention Center where he was being held on four charges, prior to yesterday’s escape, including Felony Probation Violation, Forgery, Theft by Deception and Theft by Taking.
In a related development, Gibson’s girlfriend, Shana Renee Armstrong, age 25, of Canton, GA, was arrested early this morning and charged with Conspiracy to Commit a Crime of Escape, a felony. Armstrong allegedly assisted Gibson in yesterday’s escape.
Armstrong is being held in lieu of a $22,000 bond. She had previously been arrested on April 28 and charged with Hindering Apprehension of a Fugitive. This charge is also a felony. She was out on bond on that charge.
