Seatbelt Check Results "Outstanding"

A surprise seatbelt check this morning at Forsyth Central High School in Cumming yielded “outstanding” results, Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton said today.

The check, which was sponsored by Forsyth Central High’s Students Against Destructive Decisions (S.A.D.D.) and deputies from the Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division, was conducted at the start of school early today.

In all, Sheriff Paxton said, 144 cars were stopped and all but two drivers were buckled safely in their cars.  In addition, he added, only one passenger was unbuckled out of 86 who were checked.

“These were outstanding results,” Sheriff Paxton said.  “This is the last week of school for approximately 34,000 Forsyth County students and we want to make sure that each and every one has a safe and happy summer,” he added.
