Good police work by a Forsyth County Deputy Sheriff is credited with solving a month-old indecent exposure case, Sheriff Ted Paxton said today.
On February 13, Sheriff Paxton said, a white male entered the Kroger grocery store at Green’s Corner shopping center and entered the men’s restroom. Surveillance video shows the man exiting the restroom a few minutes later with his privates exposed.
The subject then walked over to a Starbucks Coffee stand and ordered a cup of coffee. He paid for the coffee and left the store. The video shows the subject’s car, a white Honda with a black hood, leaving the store.A lookout was placed on the car and the subject by Investigator Jonathan Neville of the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division. A few days later, Deputy Joe Dumford was on patrol on Veterans Memorial Blvd. when he saw a Honda fitting the description of the one in the lookout, Inv. Neville said.
Dumford conducted a traffic stop on the Honda and was able to identify the driver, Colby William Olson, age 29, of Acworth. Dumford then forwarded an intelligence report to Inv. Neville. Neville contacted Olson the following day and interviewed him. This interview resulted in Olson being charged with one count of Public Indecency, a misdemeanor.
Olson turned himself in at the Forsyth County Jail late yesterday and has been released on a $605 bond. A court date is pending.
