Did you know many incidents can now be reported by telephone? If you would like to speak to a deputy about an incident that is not in progress you may do so by calling the appropriate precinct during normal business hours. The wreck occurred at 6:30 this morning on Pendley Road near where it crosses GA 400 and was reported by a passing motorist.
According to Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist Investigator Ron Tomblin, the car, a 1991 Honda Accord, was west bound on Pendley Road when it left the roadway, struck a tree and burst into flames.
Tomblin said the car and the driver were burned beyond recognition. At this time, Tomblin said, all that is known about the driver is that he was a male.
The car with the body still inside it was transported by wrecker to the GBI Crime Lab where identification of the driver will be attempted.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, Tomblin said.
