Motorist Killed When Car Crashes and Burns

An early morning automobile accident and fire early this morning has claimed the life of the car’s driver, Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton said today.
The wreck occurred at 6:30 this morning on Pendley Road near where it crosses GA 400 and was reported by a passing motorist.

According to Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist Investigator Ron Tomblin, the car, a 1991 Honda Accord, was west bound on Pendley Road when it left the roadway, struck a tree and burst into flames.

Tomblin said the car and the driver were burned beyond recognition.  At this time, Tomblin said, all that is known about the driver is that he was a male.
The car with the body still inside it was transported by wrecker to the GBI Crime Lab where identification of the driver will be attempted.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, Tomblin said.
