Motorcyclist Killed in Collision

A Cumming resident died yesterday when his Harley-Davidson motorcycle was involved in a collision with a SUV, Sheriff Ted Paxton said today.
The biker was identified as Roger Lee Adams, age 60, of Lakeside Trail in Cumming.

According to Corporal David Garrison, Traffic Specialist with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Adams was west bound on Pirkle Ferry Road at Lanier 400 Parkway when a 2001 GMC Yukon turned out of a parking lot into the motorcycle’s path.  Adams’ 1990 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic struck the Yukon in the driver’s door.

Adams suffered extensive head injuries and was taken by ambulance to North Fulton Hospital where he later died.  The driver of the Yukon, 21 year-old Diego Castaneda of Canton, GA, was not injured.  Castaneda was alone in his SUV.

The accident is still under investigation and charges are pending, Garrison said.
The accident occurred at approximately 5:10 p.m.
