Sgt. Jason Nipper has been selected as the Headquarters Bureau Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2011 for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Lt. Col. D.T. Smith recently announced.
On April 1, 2011, Sgt. Nipper was working an off-duty traffic detail at Lambert High School on Nichols Road in south Forsyth County. Sgt. Nipper was monitoring radio traffic and heard a call being dispatched that a person needed help at the school.
Sgt. Nipper left the traffic detail and went to the location in the school where the person was reported down. Upon his arrival, he found a 60-year-old female assistant principal unresponsive and with no pulse. Sgt. Nipper and a school nurse administered CPR and used the automated external defibrillator(AED) until EMS and fire personnel arrived.
Sgt. Nipper continued to assist EMS and Fire personnel until the female had a pulse and was breathing on her own. “Sgt. Nipper was instrumental in saving the life of the assistant principal,” added Lt. Col. D.T. Smith.
Sgt Nipper has been with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office since April 2000.
