Law Enforcement Bureau - South Patrol Division

The Law Enforcement Bureau is composed of the North & South Patrol Divisions, Criminal Investigations Division, and the Special Enforcement Division.

The South Patrol Division is responsible for providing uniformed deputies to manage and respond to calls for service, crime prevention and maintain order. The South Patrol Division consist of sixteen (16) beats that are geographically located south of SR20 (Canton Hwy & Buford Hwy). The precinct was built in 2008, and then Captain Ron Freeman was our first Precinct Commander. The precinct is located at 2985 Ronald Reagan Blvd, behind South Forsyth High School. The precinct is utilized by deputies 24 hours a day and is open to the public Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.

The South Patrol Division falls under the command of Captain Jody Chapman. Captain Chapman has over 28 years of experience in public safety. Captain Chapman was born and raised in Cobb County, Georgia. He began his public safety career in 1991 and has held numerous positions including Emergency Medical Technician, 911 Dispatcher, 911 Supervisor, and Police Officer. In 1999 Captain Chapman began working at the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. He has worked his way up through the ranks and has held positions in numerous divisions and units at FCSO, and possesses a vast knowledge of departmental operations.Captain Chapman can be reached by email at, or by calling (770) 781-2562.

*Precincts are open to the public and have medication\prescription pill drop off bins, for disposal of outdated, unused, or unneeded prescription drugs.
