Did you know many incidents can now be reported by telephone? If you would like to speak to a deputy about an incident that is not in progress you may do so by calling the appropriate precinct during normal business hours. 
Alcohol Enforcement Unit - Currently Forsyth County has over two hundred locations permitted to sell alcoholic beverages. Each licensee of these establishments must comply with state laws as well as county ordinances to assure no violations occur including underage consumption of alcohol. Special Services Section conducts undercover operations on a regular basis to deter sales to minors.
Animal Control Unit - Officers assigned to animal control have the duty to enforce state laws as well as county ordinances which ranges from failure to vaccinate, animal at large, animal cruelty, barking dogs and dangerous dogs classifications. This unit has four (4) officers assigned that work Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M... After the hours of 8:00 PM, weekends and holidays an animal control officer is on call for emergency situations as well as a supervisor and/or commander.
Residential and Business Alarm Enforcement Unit - The Special Services Section is tasked with enforcing county ordinances pertaining to false alarms concerning residential and businesses. Officers assigned to this duty issue warnings, citations for false alarms, as well as educating the public on compliance.
The ID Unit is responsible for conducting background checks, fingerprinting pertaining to firearms permits, serving and pouring permits, alcohol license permits, adoptions, etc. This unit is also responsible for issuing ID cards to private contractors who have been approved to conduct business in county buildings.
The Special Services Section currently has eleven employees assigned to different tasks. The day to day operations is supervised by a Sergeant; the overall management of this section is commanded by a Lieutenant.
Special Services Section is a function of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office that assists and maintains quality of life, for the citizens of Forsyth County.
