The 5 Dual Purpose Canine Teams primary duties include tracking lost or missing persons, tracking wanted persons, finding evidence or lost property, conducting building searches, assisting with high risk warrants and locating illegal narcotics.

The 2 Bloodhound Teams are used solely for tracking.  The Bloodhounds focus on a specific scent and are very effective in locating lost or missing persons, wanted persons that elude deputies and certain evidentiary objects.
Most all of the Sheriff’s Office K-9 Teams are certified by National Narcotic Drug Dog Association (NNDDA) and American Work Dog (AWD).  All of the K-9 Teams train weekly to maintain a high standard of performance.
