
The Forsyth County Jail & Court Security falls under the Constitutional Department of the Sheriff's Office, overseen by Assistant Chief Deeann Cash. On the court side, Court Security Officers are assigned to details of all Forsyth County Courts. This includes Probate, Magistrate, State court, and others.
The Forsyth County Jail, on the other hand, is comprised of two divisions. The Security Division has many roles within the Jail but the most important is the management of all inmate housing. The Operations Division also holds many responsibilities within the Jail, including Administration, Inmate Services, Communications, Resources, Transportation, and Inmate Programs.​

The Forsyth County Jail is a smoke-free environment. This means that no smoking of any substance, including any type of tobacco or vaping product, will be allowed. Smoking items that are brought into the Jail by the arrestee will be held with their personal property. Any of these items brought to the Jail for inmates will not be accepted and any items mailed to the Jail for inmates will not be returned. Contraband items are destroyed when discovered by Jail staff.
