VICTIM NOTIFICATION
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office utilizes VINE, an automated victim notification system. The VINE system provides an added level of protection to the citizens of Forsyth County through a solution that lets victims of crimes and other concerned citizens access timely and reliable information about offenders. This service is offered free of charge, is completely confidential, and features multiple language support.

Offering peace of mind, the VINE service lets victims anonymously check on an offender's custody status by calling a toll-free phone number, visiting their website, or using the VINELink™ mobile app.

Victims can also register to receive automated notifications about changes in the status of an offender's custody via email, text, or phone call. TTY (hearing impaired) service is also available.
SIGN UP VIA PHONE
To sign up via phone, have the offender's name or booking ID#, and call 1.800.398.2892 (TTY 1.866.847.1298)

After providing the offender’s name or booking ID #, the system will provide the relevant custody information. The call will then be asked if they would like to register automatic notifications when the offender is released or transferred. If you choose to register, you must provide a telephone number and a four-digit personal identification number (PIN), which will be used to confirm the notification sign-up. Follow the instructions to complete the process.

Confirm the “State of Interest” or “Location”

Click “Find Offender”

Enter the offender’s last name and first name, or the offender ID #, and click “Search”

View custody status information, or click the “Notify Me of Status Changes” button and follow the on-screen instructions to sign-up for automatic updates.
VINE is designed with the victim in mind. With the automatic notification feature, if you have a telephone or computer you can receive an automated alert at any time of the day or night.
